As president of national advertising sales, Arlene Manos is responsible for overseeing the advertising sales efforts for three of Rainbow Media Holdings’ popular and award-winning entertainment brands: AMC, the network that offers an uncompromising celebration of great stories; WE tv, the network that offers compelling, entertaining stories that focus on key life stages of a modern woman, from getting married to having children and raising a family; and Wedding Central, the first and only 24/7 destination where women, who are fascinated by all things wedding related, can go to get engaged in and entertained by the aspiration and drama of weddings. Rainbow National Advertising Sales is a division of Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation (RASCO), the advertising arm of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC. In this role, she directs the strategic development of AMC, WE tv and Wedding Central’s multiplatform ad sales efforts and manages a staff of nearly 80 members in offices located in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta.
Manos has held her current position since 2002 and expanded her responsibilities in August 2009 to include Wedding Central upon its launch. She joined RASCO to launch ad sales at AMC and oversee sponsorships for WE tv. In 2003, she spearheaded WE tv’s efforts to become a fully ad supported network. She has since then built successful advertising revenue streams for these networks and has brought in numerous key advertisers, including Ford Motor Company for AMC, Hewlett Packard for WE tv and Geico for Wedding Central.
Prior to joining RASCO, Manos worked at A&E Television Networks, with her last post as senior vice president of national advertising sales. During her time there, she held a number of sales management positions, including vice president of national advertising sales, regional vice president of eastern advertising sales and director of New York sales. Manos joined A&E Network as an account executive. Previously, she served as an associate publisher of Manhattan, Inc. magazine, a retail sales manager at WABC-TV in New York and as an account executive at CBS Cable.
Manos earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Trinity College in Washington, DC. She serves on the National Sales Advisory Committee of the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau (CAB) and is a past president and board member of the Advertising Women of New York (AWNY).
