Michael Lahey

Senior Vice President and General Manager

Rainbow Post & Media Services

As senior vice president and general manager of Rainbow Post & Media Services, a subsidiary of Rainbow Media Holdings, Michael Lahey is responsible for the day-to-day operations and continued development of Rainbow Media’s midtown Manhattan post-production facility. He was named to this post in August 2005.

Under Mr. Lahey’s leadership, Rainbow Post & Media Services has grown dramatically in scope and magnitude. The facility started with 17 standard-definition edit suites and now features more than 50 high-definition edit suites. The facility’s offerings now include: fiber optic connectivity worldwide, duplication and format, DVD and Blu-Ray authoring, media encoding and certified iTunes delivery.

Mr. Lahey joined Rainbow Media in June 2002 as vice president and general manager of 11 Penn TV. In this role, he was responsible for launching the 7th Avenue street level studios then owned and operated by Rainbow Media, and Rainbow Media’s 7th Avenue post-production facility, today called Rainbow Post & Media Services, as well as developing a team of production and engineering professionals to support these operations. Mr. Lahey oversaw studio productions for fuse, Madison Square Garden’s music television network, as well as shows for MSG’s sports networks and third party clients such as Don Imus in the Morning.

Prior to joining Rainbow Media, Mr. Lahey was senior vice president, technology and business development for AZCAR Technologies, Inc., a Toronto based television consulting and engineering firm. He was responsible for their multinational television and systems integration operations, and managed projects for international clients including Turner Entertainment in Atlanta and London, ABC and Univision in New York, and CNN in Istanbul. Before that, Mr. Lahey held the position of senior director of operations and engineering for CNBC Europe and Dow Jones’ earlier version, European Business News in London.

Mr. Lahey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from California State University, Fullerton.
